Waiting for the bottle to fill up. |
Mission accomplished (with a little help from me: I leaned over the railing to where water was pouring off the roof and caught a lot for her). |

After the dog and parrot show, Fox wanted to see the art on display. |
We want Chase to know how to run up a tree and also how to get down. Papa Tom put him a few feet up in the peach tree next to the porch for his first lesson. |
Papa Tom explained to Chase how to jump to the front porch to get away from a barking dog, for instance. |
Chase sprang to action! |
On his first attempt, he made it to the porch but had to scramble through the railing. The training will continue! |
Einar and Chase meet each other. Einar says, "Really? Another cat?" |
Celebrated at Central Market with Papa Tom, Amon, and Fox. Fox talked me into a footrace to a nearby tree. Hard to keep up with her in flip flops! Will wear running shoes next time, Fox! |
Mmm! Spaghetti and meatballs. |
Amon pulled out the condo key for Papa Tom and me to take home. Closing is on September 2 if all goes well. Cross your fingers for us! |
Tom enjoying the Sound (I think) at what I call Totem Pole Park, near Pike Place Public Market. |
Construction has begun on the long-anticipated three giant biosphere that Amazon is building in downtown Seattle. The three intersecting domes are described as “gigantic spheres resembling melted-together Milk Duds in the shadow of Amazon's new 500-foot-tall office tower.” Each one will be 100 feet tall, and together they’ll host plants from around the world — more than 300 different species, many of them endangered — and even trees. “[A] plant-rich environment has many positive qualities that are not often found in a typical office setting,” says an Amazon planning document, promising a three-block area where employees can “socialize in a more natural, park-like setting” — at mild temperatures between 68 and 72 degrees.

Here's one of the totem poles at the park. The other is of a Mario-style lumberjack perched atop a pole. |
Still haven't ridden the ferris wheel. On the list for next year. At night. Or maybe at sunset. |
Who's that peeking over the edge of the pool? Otis spent Friday night with us at the hotel. |
Saturday in the park with Sylphia and Otis. Otis is on the walkie-talkie with Skyler, who's back at the house. |
Waiting for a breeze. |

Papa Tom at the Space Needle. The last time he was there, he was 8 years old and on a family vacation. |

This glass garden takes up an entire room. The red spears are over 6 feet tall. |
In the Persian room, the sun shines through a ceiling covered in glass pieces. |
