We met in Shreveport on Saturday, June 17, 2017, for an early Father's Day celebration. Happy Father's Day, Craig, Martin, Dad, Tom, Al, Ryder, Micah, and Amon!
The City of Austin will be pouring sidewalks in our neighborhood over the next few weeks. The engineer apparently decided the sunflower will have to go. We'll lose a peach tree too. Luckily, the garden is just far enough from the curb to be out of sidewalk's way.
Finished my last ever in-person hearing on May 31 and my last ever telephone hearing on June 13. Working on the last decision, to be issued June 30. Then will burn comp time through July, except will be at work July 5 for team retirement lunch and July 31 to turn in the badge and laptop. Wow! Where did 17 years go???
Stopped by the Chevrolet dealership to pick up brochures about the Camaro Zl1 for Otis. This is the new Corvette, also a very sleek, apparently fun car to drive. (I probably will never find out first hand.
But I did sit in the Camaro Fireball. Listen to this, Otis: 720 horsepower! You'll have to take this baby on the dry straightaways in West Texas to open it up. Austin and Portland traffic are too "stop and go."
The Horns were in Austin on Memorial Day for Emma's UIL competition. She made a "1" on her solo and her ensemble also made a "1." Congratulations, Emma! We all caught "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" at the Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar. The lobby has an interesting optical illusion. Kind of made me dizzy!
