Is it a UFO over Houston? I was in Houston June 27-28 for a preliminary hearing in a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality case. While at the Sheraton, a transformer blew and the hotel lost 50 percent of its electrical power for several hours. Only one elevator was running (I was on the eighth floor). Guests gathered in the lobby for what turned out to be a party atmosphere when the hotel served complimentary sodas, chips, and fruit. We were all reminded of how necessary air conditioning is in late June in Houston when you're in a space without windows that open. Took above photo of the city from my room. |
