Tiny house at "TINY" film premiere

A tiny house (under 200 square feet) was on hand at the SXSW premiere of "Tiny," about a movement to give up our large homes for smaller (make that much smaller) homes, thus freeing ourselves from mortgage payments and time spent cleaning, for instance.  Here, Tom stands in the kitchen of the tiny house.

So cute!  Many tiny houses are on trailers due to building codes that prohibit permanent homes under 600 or so square feet in size.  Owners get around the building code by keeping their homes "mobile."

This tiny house is for sale for about $35,000.  It has a living area, kitchen, bath with shower, and sleeping loft.  Check out Tumbleweed Tiny House Company online for house plans.  The biggest tiny house is a two-story, 1.5 bath home that's as cute as a button at just under 900 square feet.  Tom and I are exploring the idea of having a tiny house at Cornerstone.
