After checking the passport website for days, good news on July 12! Then anxious about how long the mail will take. Micah received the passport on July 14. Flew from Portland to Austin on July 22. Too close for me, the person who plans way ahead and builds in flat tire time. Do I need to "lighten up," per my Dad's suggestion several years ago?

Liberia, Costa Rica, here we come! (July 23, 2023)
You might have heard about the backlog of passport applications? How people's summer travel plains were derailed when their passport didn't arrive? We were waiting to exhale until July 12 when Micah's passport was finally approved, four months after applying. Micah and Otis flew in from Portland on July 22; we flew together to Liberia on July 23. That same day, the Asheville Lewises flew to San Jose after spending the night in Atlanta. Here we are on the bus from the parking lot to the terminal. Yea! Only 3:45 from Austin to Liberia, direct and nonstop on American Airlines.
