The ride to the island east of Puerto Rico took about 45 minutes. The goal: go out onto Mosquito Bay (named for an Indian tribe and not mosquitoes, thank goodness: there were no mosquitoes there) in a pontoon boat to stir up the bioluminescent organisms, causing them to light up like fireflies in the water.
