Big Bend National Park (August 28, 2019)

Big Bend National Park, encompassing 800,000 acres and the entire Chisos Mountains range, has more species of birds, plants, butterflies, bats, reptiles, and even ants than any other US national park.

Prickly pear fruit is used for juice, jam, sorbet, and in margaritas.

The Sam Nail ranch, established in 1918 in what is now Big Bend National Park, is no more.  The windmill continues to pump water all these years later, creating a green oasis for wildlife.
