After visiting the Alabama Hills where hundreds of films have been made, we had to visit the Museum of Western Film History in Lone Pine. Quentin Tarantino donated the dentist wagon prop, complete with a 2'11" foam tooth with a gold filling, from Django Unchained (2012). He also donated his director's chair.
Film crews had to lug around a lot of equipment back in the day!
As a kid, Tom loved Roy Rogers. Actually, he still loves Roy Rogers.
Roy Rogers was always the good guy. You can tell by the white hat. And his rules for living.
In High Sierra (1941), Humphrey Bogart as "Mad Dog" Roy Earle tried to outrun the cops on Whitney Portal Road in this 1937 Plymouth Coupe. LOVE the car!
Before inline skates and roller blades, there were plain old roller skates. The keys adjusted the length of the skate and tightened it around the toes of your shoes. You often had to stop to re-tighten everything. Adjustability bonus: you and your best friend could each use one skate, kind of like a scooter, even if you had different sized feet.
Papa Tom with . . . Silver? (cue William Tell Overture).
