Under the wire (August 31, 2021)

We visited so many places that would no longer be open starting at 11:59 p.m. August 31 due to wildfire danger.  The Trail of 100 Giants, Boyden Cavern, our drive west to east through Sherman Pass, Pacific Crest Trail at Kennedy Meadows, Mt. Whitney Portal Trail...the list is long.  As of August 31, we were headed south to Los Angeles to fly home on September 1st. We'd seen wildfire scars and had to change routes when roads were closed due to wildfire.  Hopefully the closure helped prevent fires caused by careless humans.
